(born on December 14th 1946) Jane Birkin is an English actress and singer. She is the daughter of the Lieutenant-Commander David Birkin and the actress Judy Campbell, her brother is the British director and screenwriter Andrew Birkin.
Birkin had her international breakthrough in the role of a fashion model in Michelangelo Antonioni’s cult film “Blow Up”, which won the “Golden Palm” at the film festival in Cannes.
For 12 years, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg produced common music. Serge Gainsbourg dedicated his latest album “Amours of feintes” to her. Additionally, she starred in numerous films. In March 2006 her album “Fiction” appeared, on which she collaborated with contemporary artists like Beth Gibbons, Johnny Marr and Rufus Wainwright.
