Stefan Marquard, born on 20 June 1964 in Schweinfurt, is not only a renowned German chef, but also a popular TV face. After training as a butcher, his career began with an apprenticeship as a chef at the Hotel Rebstock in Würzburg.

After working in top restaurants in Germany and an inspiring trip through Italy, he became head chef at Taverna la Vigna in 1989, which was recognised as having the best Italian cuisine in Germany. In 1991, he opened his award-winning restaurant “Drei Stuben” in Meersburg. With 18 points in Gault-Millau, a Michelin star and the title “Innovation of the Year 2000”, he set new standards. After a spell as culinary director at the “Lenbach” in Munich, Marquard has focussed a training and consulting in the catering sector since 2003.

The Marquard Academy, founded in 2014, offers seminars, while the “Sterneküche macht Schule” prevention project with the Knappschaft emphasises his social responsibility. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Anton Schrobenhauser Foundation. Stefan Marquard is not only a master chef, but also a creator and promoter in the world of cuisine.
