(born on March 26th 1951) Klaus Hoffmann is a German singer, actor, author and songwriter. He was born in Berlin Charlottenburg as an only child. His father died very early in 1961. After training as a merchandiser, he undertook in 1969 a trip to Afghanistan, which brought him several times in life-threatening situations. In 2000, his first novel “Afghanistan” appeared.
His first album “Klaus Hoffmann” was released in 1975. The songs, written by himself on the album “What am I to do in this town?” are mainly about his hometown Berlin. In 1978, Hoffmann got the German Cabaret Award in the Chanson division for his songs. 1979, his first major tour followed. Hoffmann has recorded more than 30 albums.
